Looking for hardy fast growing, to almost invading-
Chocolate mint will run everywhere. Wood violets are hardy and look good.

If area is rocky, put down alittle top soil, seed, and johnny jumpup- these will grow in anyhting. and spread like crazy.

Alyssiums are great ground cover. It has little white flowers.

I like liriope, juniper, and I will add crown vetch – awful sounding name, but it has a really great growing habit – invasive if in a place where you want to contain it, and it has pretty pink flowers. I have a friend that has it growing on a steep incline in part sun and it looks great.

    Good luck.

Wild violets are pretty and Gout weed or Bishops weed as its sometimes called is nice to. Although it will die back in zone 5 for the winter.
