How much would you charge a person for weeding their garden? Simple weeding, not big landscaping.?
Looking tο add a lіttlе more income bу doing something outside thаt’s simple аnd tο mе, relaxing. Thаt’s weeding gardens / areas fοr folks whο еіthеr don’t hаνе thе time, energy οr ability tο weed, bυt want tο hаνе ‘nеаt’ gardens. Nο clue hοw much tο charge…Thουghtѕ?

Depends on the area. I would pretend to be a customer and call the various mowing services for quotes and ask them how long it will take to accomplish. You then have a baseline for the hourly rate.
Well my dad used to charge people a penny a weed. and if someone has a lot of weeds… that’s big money.
Labor rates are different in many areas; however, most people will only pay minimum wage or a little higher for yard workers… Lawn services, however, are usually insured, and have lots of various tools and machines; therefore, they receive fairly descend wages.
I think highway has a really good idea it allows you to be competative without being to cheap or expensive , another idea is to ask yourself how much would I be prepared to pay for such a sevice ?
Highway has a good answer …if you want high end customers.. it hurts the whole industry when people who don’t have to support a whole company go in and do work for very cheap… but you could do it for the elderly/disabled for around $10-$15 per hour.. or get a job with a landscape/lawn company; most of them need someone to do weekly rounds of weed pulling on their accounts… I know I need someone like that.. so, if you are anywhere near GB, WI get in touch with me.
I pay $10.00 hourly to our weeder in South Louisiana.
I do gardening for a living ( amongst other things ) and I charge $27.00/hr for most yard work including hand weeding. I might go up to $29.00 or $30.00 this year.
I am an experienced gardener and I work very efficiently so I think that is reasonable as long as you are truly efficient and get all the roots out, and not just fast.
