That’s good news about opening your own business! Congrats! and also good news that you have a mild winter so you can also offer landspacing services to your clients and keeping the plants well fertilized and protect them from the cold temperatures. I can refer you to a company that sells 100% Natural biodegradable and organic products. These products are great I am using them myself. And believe me when I tell you that your clients are going to see a big differences in their lawn/garden when you use these products and guess what more referrals! Good Luck with your new business!!
I’m not in the landscaping business personally, although I wish I were (kind of). But if I were, and:
If it were me, I would get a small engine repair certificate. Then I would repair and/or maintain outdoor power equipment i.e. lawn mowers, trimmers, lawn tractors, etc. in my shop. I’d offer a pick-up service for disabled equipment. That way I could 1)make end of season repairs, 2)prepare and maintain equipment for ready use next season, 3) perhaps drum up business for landscaping season when I pick up disabled equipment to be repaired.
My son has his own landscape business, and he spends the winter months building pergolas, porches, garden sheds & tiling around pools etc.Of course living in a warmer region of Australia, there is still gardening & lawns to do.He tends the gardens & indoor plants for many business houses in his city & does contract work for the city council in their gardens.
There are a bunch of services you can provide. Here are some suggestions and some articles for follow up reading.
