  • Dr. Vader:

    An oak tree.

This is a tough one as you are not allowing for much depth. I think you should contact a nursery that specializes in trees in your area.

Crepe Myrtles do well in your area, especially in the warmer areas of the BA. One my favorite for the smooth braches and beautiful flowers.

    another?

Ginkos can be nice, yellow foliage in the fall (followed by leaf-drop), green floiage that ‘ripples’ in the wind duriing summer months.

Oak trees do grow fast, but require a deep root system. They also harbor oak worms and drop leaves and acorns all over!

Jacaranda are nice too (showy flowers).

All of the fastest growers are also decidious trees (drop leaves in winter)
