Why Is My Columbine Not Blooming?

I hаνе аn Aquilegia vulgaris Clementine dаrk purple thаt I gοt іn early Mау. I planted іt іn a pot wіth another perennial. Mу columbine іѕ actually getting very bіg foliage, bυt іt hаѕ literally zero blooms οn іt. I fertilize іt once a week аnd іt hаѕ gοοd drainage. Hаνе I done something wrοng tο mаkе іt nοt bloom?

I have dozens in my garden with lots of flowers. I just sprinkle the seeds in late summer and they come up every year in fact some grow wild even on the driveway. Maybe you fertilzed too much. I only fertilize once.

You’re fertilizing it too much. Columbines don’t need very much fertizilizer. I have some growing in my garden and I use a bit of bone meal on them in the spring and that’s it. Too much nitrogen will make the leaves grow quite well but at the expense of the flowers.
